Found some green yarn in my stash to make Matt a replacement hat, since Atticus now wears the old one I knit for him.
Christmas Eve cast on!
Didn’t want to make the exact same one, so I improvised.

Cast on 100 on size 6 needles
K1P1 twisted rib for about 3.5 inches (long enough to fold over to keep the ears warm and toasty)
Switched to larger needles and decreased to 96 stitches
Knit 7 inches (approx) stockinette before the decreases
Divided 96 stitches into 4 sections of 24 for paired decreases (SSK after marker, K2TOG before for square shape)
Decreased to 8 stitches in each section (24 total) then K2TOG all the way around
Pulled yarn through (8 stitches) to close

For some reason he prefers to wear it purl aide out. It’s his hat, so he can do whatever he wants- but I can think it’s weird.
