I have decided that I am going to make this blanket in 4 quarters and seam together, so that the lines will meet in an X in the middle. I am doing this primarily because I don’t like how the non cast on edges look compared to the cast on edges. This way, all the edges will be cast on edges. I think it will also fix some of the funkiness due to the fact that my gauge has loosened a bit since starting this in 2016. The one problem with this plan is that it commits me to the 480 total squares, but that’s what I wanted in the first place, and it does look like a good size, since I’m currently at 9x12, and each quarter will be 10x12.

Trying to perhaps finish this by the end of 2022! At the very least I am committing to quadrants 2&3 being completed. I have put together a schedule, and to finish the blanket I need to complete a square every day expect 2 in each month, and to complete quadrats 2/3, I need to complete a square every day but 12 of each month.

2/1/22 - 171 squares! On track to complete by end of year.
3/1/22 - 177 squares, rehearsal has slowed me down. On track still to complete quadrants 2&3 by EoY
4/1/22 - 226 squares! Now back on track to finish by EoY per original plan
5/1/22 - 259 squares
6/1/22 - 263 squares

8/1/22 - 304 squares - Got behind in May, June, and most of July, but ended up doing basically nothing but squares for about half the month, and now I’m closer to back on track. I think it’s still unlikely to finish by EoY, but some long conference calls coming up give me hope that August will be really productive and I may even get down to less than 1 square per day for the rest of the year.

Did not knit for most of October, and all of November and December, so did not finish by end of year. Targeting 3/9/23 as completion date, at least of knitting, even if it’s not seamed.

Completed 61 squares in January (!!!), and 35 squares in February, all knitting completed Feb 14, 2023. Hoping to have seaming and trimming finished by 2/18.
