This got real ugly for a while. I had people go out of their way to tell me how “unusual” it was. I can’t really say that it has markedly improved, but it’s grown on me. At any rate, I had invested far too much time and yarn to frog it. As a bonus I am now the master of the one row buttonhole and cable cast on.

Tips:

• Slip the first stitch of every row. It will make picking up stitches later a lot easier.
• Don’t do the one row buttonholes the way that is suggested in the pattern. Use the tutorial on knittinghelp.com that is a lot simpler.
• Just keep knitting, it may turn out to be less ugly than you thought.
