March 7, 2025: I have been eyeing this pattern for a while now. I am glad I finally got around to making it.

GTCO on 3mm (US 2.5) 66 sts for the medium size with Knit Picks Stroll Forest Green. Transferred to 2.25mm (US 1) needles for the rib. Worked 12 rows of ribbing. Changed to 2.75mm (US 2) for the colorwork and 2.25 mm for everything else.

I have a love-hate relationship with colorwork. I love the outcome but don’t enjoy the process. Maybe I will enjoy making them with more practice.

Heel: I used the Ducathi heel. Of the short row heels, this fits me the best.

I worked 68 rows on the foot (after the heel and before the toe decreases).

Toe: I also used the Ducathi toe. It’s a slightly longer toe with slower decreases and so, one starts the decreases earlier on the foot. I have made it with more woolly yarn and it was great because wool is forgiving. However, with Stroll, it felt a bit too tight given the shape of my toe (which is quite wide). It would be a perfect shaping for a more pointed toe.

I also have a love hate relationship with KP Stroll. Don’t get me wrong - it’s a workhorse, comes in a variety of colors and is very affordable. I also love how soft it is. However, it has the feel of something like tencel or bamboo, making it inelastic and I don’t enjoy working with it.

Measurements after blocking:
Cuff: 1”
Cuff to beginning of heel: 3.75”
Heel to beginning of the toe: 19cm
Heel to the tip of the toe: 23.5cm
