Notes

April 8, 2022:

With bare hare held double LTCO 40 sts with US #5 needles.
Joined in the round using Assia Brill’s Smooth Join technique.
Add the kidsilk. Holding kidsilk and one strand of bare hare together for the rest of the glove.
Changed to US #3 needles to continue with the lace edging.
Went down to US #2.5 needles after the completing the lace edging (Row 19) and before starting the purl band. Worked the rest of the gloves on US #2.5.

When joining in the round after the button band, the BOR starts after joining the 5 st band across two needles.

To make the cable pattern look even I did this:

  1. Make the yarnovers quite snug. Work them on the tips of the needles.

  2. I just realized that toothpicks make fabulous cable needles for thin yarns.

  3. When doing the cables, I used a toothpick to switch the position of the sts on the needles first. Then I just knit them as instructed. I did not knit from the cable needle as it tends to lengthen the sts, creating holes.

I reduced one stitch a few rows after separating the thumb sts.

Change to US #1.5 needles.
Purl.
Sl1 wyib and knit.
purl the slipped st and the remaining sts.
knit 2 rows
A row of yo-k2tog
knit 2 rows.

Change to US #1 needles. 3 garter ridges starting and ending with a purl row.

BO with US #2.5 needles. Medium BO, not too tight. I used this video to neaten the BO.

Buttons
I used this video to learn to do a Square Knot, and this video to learn how to Sew a Button to your knits.
