Decided to whip-up another Stocking filler for the Husband on Christmas Eve. Thankfully, he decided to busy himself elsewhere and this allowed me just enough hours to sneakily produce a hat - yah-dah! The combination of this pattern and the ECY Whitfell, made it super-easy - didn’t even break into a sweat! And, I’m certain a few sips of fizzy stuff may have also passed my lips…I mean, it is Christmas after all!
Pattern: super, super easy and what a great fit it has turned out to be. I’ve knitted with slightly lighter yarn and so I’ve gone up a needle size to compensate. No other mods.
Yarn: Well, I’ve knitted with ECY Whitfell before, and loved it - super soft and squishy and with a lovely halo effect on the fabric. It’s so wearable too i.e. non-itchy. The fabric is light and airy, whilst dividing warmth - something I know the Husband will appreciate. He HATES being too hot!
The shade is a lovely ‘walnut brown’ which is deep and rich and appears to have a lovely lustre to it due to the base. I love it.
Photos: taken on New Year’s Day along the Lincolnshire Coast. I knew the Husband liked his hat as he brought it with him, without having to be prompted aka nagged. And, it was well needed. Away from the Coast, the air was still and mild…along the Coast: bitterly cold and fairly ferocious. Perfect weather in my book!
