6/20/10 I’ve finished it! I made a little frog with 2 buttons to hold it closed in an attractive way. For the collar I picked up and knit stitches starting with the back neck down to the pocket then cast on 16 sts and knit the collar as for the directions knitting or purling 2 tog every other row to attach with collar without sewing. It came out pretty nice if do say so myself. This pattern has WAY too much sewing.

5/30/10 I’ve gotten the body and the sleeves done, no changes and am now working on the left pocket. I am doing the pocket very differently, there was WAY too much sewing.

I did the hem exactly the same way as for the sleeves, but instead of picking up the purl bumps and binding it off on the back I pulled all the stitches through the back to the front and picked up and knit 21 stitches to either side up the pocket (6.5) inches and started knitting the pocket back and forth from the bottom 39 stitches decreasing 1 stitch from alternating sides every row. Also slipping the first stitch of every row. This makes the pocket attach to the body as you are knitting, eliminating the tedious sewing and making the pocket lay flat against the body. It looks very clean.

5/25/10 - Been knitting away just as the direction say. I’m not really getting the point of a faux seam. Really? If you don’t have a seam, why pretend? Hopefully is will become clear
