This 1950s pattern has everything I want - mulitisized, top down knit and small gauge.
MODS:
I made the sleeves about an inch shorter as the felt too long, but I should have only done .5 of an inch.
I didnt do as many decreases on the body, the cardigan comes to high-hip but the amount of decreases would make it only fit around my waist - too tight.
Even then, its a bit small around the bottom - hoping a blocking will fix it.
The button band doesnt lay flat, its all wavy and blocking has only helped a little. I’m going to try and sew some ribbon to the back and hope that works.
Love it though! 2 balls of Bendigo were just enough for the largest size.
09 May - I’m about 5 inches down, and have nearly 400 sts on my needles - ack! Lucky its not a boring knit.
16 May - Finished the Petal Yoke shaping, about an inch off from getting to the armhole split. Bring it! I’ve only used half a ball of the Bendigo, I hope 2 balls is enough though.
25 May - armhole split! I did make a mod as I noticed the armhole getting longer and longer I did some extra increases each round so it wouldnt be too low. Working on a sleeve right now :)
30 May - Finished one sleeve, and still going on the same ball of Bendigo!
6 June - Finished the right front, and 4 inches into the left. I hope that this will be all finished in two weeks?
17 June - Left side done, half the back is done. The back is taking a while, but i’m plodding along slowly…
29 June - HOME STRETCH! Back is complete, and i’m 4 inches into the arm. I was worried about how much yarn is left (i think about 60grm?) but I reckon I should be fine - fingers crossed tho!
7 July - its done baby!
