Used twisted German cast-on. Used a spit-splice technique taught to me by Gudrun Johnston to join ends of new colors of yarn together rather than having to weave them all in at the end. If it’s good enough for Gudrun, it’s good enough for me!

I am a tight knitter, and I was surprised by how large this came out to be. Usually I have to go up a needle size in order to get gauge on projects, but this hat came out a bit taller and wider than pattern dimensions even though I used the recommended needle size. If making again for myself, I might eliminate one of the pattern repeats to make it small enough for my tiny head, even if I used the smaller needle sizes recommended for the Small.

I use an expired passport to make my tassels. I wrapped each of the eight colors of the hat eight times around the passport to make this one.

You could easily make a second hat from the same kit by switching the purples (colors A & B) with the greens (colors G & H).
