This was the last project that my mother worked on before her death on June 15, 2022. On June 21, 2024, a group of crocheters at Zombie Knitpocalypse finished the granny squares that she began and chained them together for me. I picked up stitches for the sleeves and finished the cardigan the day after Zombie Knitpocalypse ended. Thanks to the generosity of the fiber community, this cardigan is complete.

In addition to yarns listed above, also used some bulky-weight mystery sparkly gold yarn from mom’s stash that she had leftover from crocheting a headband for herself. Weight/yardage unknown.

Mom is crocheting granny squares; I’ll chain them together and knit the sleeves.

Make Size 2.

Use random bulky/superbulky scraps and leftovers, e.g. Kiki’s troll hat.
