I wanted to try the Drops Nepal, having heard so much about it. Ideal opportunity as it was on sale at £1.70 per ball. So far, it’s knitting up nicely.

The YouTube video accompanying the pattern is really helpful. It has timestamps, and a transcript, making it very easy to follow.

The pattern has a really clever method for adding length to the back neck without having to do the dreaded German Short rows.

I used the method for avoiding holes when picking up stitches for the sleeve from the brilliant video for the Step By Step sweater.

And for the cast off I used the “hiya hiya grandma’s stretchy bind off” YouTube tutorial. It’s turned out not to be as stretchy as I needed. If it’s still too tight after blocking, I’ll have to undo it and find an alternative.

Yep, too tight, so I ripped out the castoff, switched to a 5.5mm needle (one whole size larger than the rib), and used the Nimble Needles “a super stretchy bind off for 2 x 2 rib” YouTube video.
