What a well written pattern - the instructions were clear and easy to follow, with lots of pictures,and the border came out without rippling or buckling.

There’s a huge amount of work in this, and I put it to one side a couple of times to do something else, but I’m delighted with the end result. None of the techniques was overly difficult, but there were a lot of ends, and 78 pieces altogether, including the eyes and beaks!

Because it’s going to a friend’s baby, I made crochet white eye backgrounds, crochet black eye centres, and then embroidered little white crosses in the centre of each eye, just to make sure they were really well anchored on.

It was well worth persevering with, because I think this is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever made!!!!!
