Better late than never, was able to give this to Mum today when she called in after a lunch with friends. She absolutely loves it and is thrilled, it does exactly what she required. She’d asked for something that would flounce out under her jaw and hairline to keep her warm. Easy care too, her favourite feature of an anything. ;)

The ruffle in the border takes care of this (and the collar area) nicely and the scarf isn’t so long it is unruly or too bulky to wear with a jacket. Altogether a WIN! Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture. I shall have to insist she provides one from her trip to Ireland. :)

A 12dc in magic ring jws/s.
B cl2dc & ch1 in each dc jws/s.
C 3dc shell ch 1 (side) in ch sp, 2dc ch2 2dc ch 1 (corner) in next chsp x 6 and join with s/s.
D 2hdc in each side chsp, ch jws/s to next hex.

So far I’ve 18 hexes, two joined in black. looking at joining the rest tomorrow then deciding whether to carry on with the pattern or leave it as a scarf.

Left as a scarf in the end, ends woven in and stashed till I see recipient next week.
