My first attempt went awry when I failed at the gusset stage. Rather than knit a second wrong I’ve gone back to basics.

I have several basic sock patterns almost identical to the pattern that came with the yarn, each simpler to follow in different ways so I’m putting together a basic sock pattern that combines the best elements of each and makes sense at least to me.

I’m a UK size 4/5 so have cast on 60 stitches. I’m using K2, P2 for the ribbing at the top and will be fitting the sock as I go.
