This is going to be fun.
Character is a poverty stricken Russian Jewess. Wardrobe instruction that muted colours are to be used, consideration also needs to be given to the heat of the lights, so I’m looking at openwork in nothing heavier than a four ply cotton.

I have a fortnight, Hobbycraft have a 20% off event on Thurssday evening, so if I decide I’ve nothing drab enough I’ll shop then…
Have mixed two strands to see if that gets a dark enough effect. I’m loving the fabric that it is working up into but think it may end up being a prototype for another of these done in plainer colours.

Working up nicely - I’ve a total of ten complete squares and the colour is looking nicely non descript except at close inspection.

Took this out with me this evening as I need to get on with it again. I packed it away since it wasn’t finished in time and though it now has 21 whole squares I’d like to get it finished this summer.

Spent a little time on this in the garden earlier as I’m under strict instructions to rest up and relax following a fall yesterday. Pity I forgot to pick it up on the way to the hospital, I could have done with it this morning.

Managed to get a bit more done on this one at the weekend. It was much admired at the Crawley Library Knit & Natter on Saturday afternoon. Growing very slowly, but it really is an absolute delight to work on, the yarn is so very pretty.

Still the work I choose to do in really good light, one for sunny days with lots of room to work. I suspect I’ll have another on the go before long I’m sure.

Not quite bright enough to work on this one at the moment (and I’m on a deadline with another project). Looking forward to an afternoon with this one on the beanbag if the weather stays fine this weekend.
