Mollie Makes issue 10 - lovely magazine Emma’s subscribed to. My first glimpse was an MMS with the usual “Can you?” I was on board right away. Of course I’ll have to make a pair for myself, to test the pattern… aren’t they pretty? So lovely…
Got my hands on the magazine on the 25th Jan, the pattern is really well written and presented, charts provided for each stage. I’m going to really enjoy making these.
There’s an update about the thread requirements as Ticket Weight 50 is hard to find in the UK. I’ve started a test in a laceweight cotton which looks like it will come up to around the right size for my friend - will measure her to be sure this weekend.
Pattern was much admired this evening, the beginning is fiddly but satisfying. Is going to look very pretty in the ivory.
11/3/2012 - Had to take some time time off this recently due to having lost the use of my hands, most inconvenient! I am back on the case now and hoping to catch up this week now everyone is out from under my feet.
20/03/2012 Back on after a break as project bag had become covered in an unusual spot and I lost a couple of days fearing I’d have to start over, yarn and all.
24/3/2012 Now on the picot edging of the red lace layer. With luck this one will be finished this weekend and I’ll get some shots in this afternoon’s sunshine. Will take to client for fitting and any amendments before I start on the second.
26/5/2012 Second layer of lace on the second mitt is almost done. I am going to make myself a pair in ivory lace soon. These should be pressed and ready to go to the recipient on Wednesday.
