This was a modified version of Santorums pattern. the monkey came from her pattern. I then used the same concept and made 8 other squares.

The basic concept was a small circle in the middle of a granny square.Then adding ears,cheeks etc separately as separate appliqués sewed on.

I then crewel embroidered whiskers,eyes etc. to finish it off.
