So this is a cowl that I was going to have completed for Christmas as a gift… last year (2010). I’m really bad at starting projects and then not finishing them. Particularly when they’re gifts that the intended recipient doesn’t actually know about.

I’m pretty sure I’m using american terminology, as UK/AU crochet doesn’t even have a Single Crochet.

ch=chain
sc=single crochet
dc=double crochet

Base chain of x4+2
R1: ch1, sc in second ch from hook, sc, (2ch, 2sc) to end
R2: ch 2, dc in third ch from hook, dc, (2 ch, 2dc) to end

repeat rows one and two until it’s long enough, finish with row 1.
