I used PlanetJune’s technique for perfect stripes. I used the no-cut join version and it worked perfectly. It’s a little futzy at first and you need to count and keep track of your stitches. It’s easy to mistake the join bit for an actual stitch. Once you do a few rows it’s easier to follow and work with.

I did not have plain black safety eyes in the right size so I did a 6 stitch magic ring and went around a few times embroidering them in place. I did have a safety nose and that went a long way for keeping the muzzle in place while I stitched it on. For the head stripes I did 2 quick 10 stitch foundation single crochets and embroidered them in place.
