Notes

The pattern doesn’t specify this, but the scarf is knit from tail to head.

I’m using sock yarn, so in order to make this a little thicker I knit with two strands of yarn held together.

Modifications

Tail: Knit as pattern specifies

Ribbing: replaced the 1x1 ribbing with 2x2. For no real reason, I just felt like doing it this way.

Body: Okay, 50 rows for the body is even too short for a small child and a lot of users have said the same. But as one user pointed out, maybe the designer meant 50 garter-ridges (light bulb moment). That would be 100 rows, which sounds way more realistic.

Ears: CO 14 (MC), Knit 5 rows Garter Stitch, then followed decrease instructions as pattern specifies. For the CC (white), I also CO 14, followed the pattern’s written instructions and did not include the same 5 row garter stitch as the MC.

Eye Placement: If you look at images of real foxes in the wild, you will see that their eyes always fall on the red part of their face. The white portion of the face only constitutes the sides of the cheeks. Just something to consider when placing your eye-buttons.

Measurements

Tail = 5.5” long, 5.25” wide
