Notes

General Notes:

Body

  • Used magic loop method to begin because I had no needles short enough. A bit tricky at first.
  • Provisional crochet cast-on for tubular edge.
  • Small neck: I found clipping my crochet ends together with stitch markers helped keep the knitting from pulling apart at the join for the first few rows. Otherwise it kept pulling apart and was just a mess before I could get through the ribbing. See pic.
  • Short rows front & back.
  • Second hank joined at body hem ribbing. (using 18gr of 100 gr hank to complete sweater).
  • Lori’s twisty bind off.

Sleeves

  • Six rows knit (6mm), then on smaller needle (5mm) knit two rows and ribbed 6 rows.
  • Lori’s twisty bind off.

Afterthought for next time:

  • My gauge was a bit off. I followed the Size 2 directions, but the finished bust measurement ended up to be 46”.

  • I’ll use the long-tail cast on. I’ve been knitting for a long time, but I found the tubular cast on using metal needles with 80% mohair yarn really quite difficult. But if I knit it again with different yarn, yes, love the tubular cast on. Beautiful.

  • Short rows for the back only. The front short rows would be a bit too droopy on me. (Great for my busty mannequin though.)

  • Don’t work on the yoke when I have the flu.
