Dad's Fair Isle Pullover

Project info
Fair Isle Pullover by Patons & Baldwins
Needles & yarn
US 2½ - 3.0 mm
King Cole Big Value 4 Ply

I have cast on for the larger size on a circular needle, which has been a little arduous over the k1 p1 rib, but is paying off now that I have reached the Fair Isle section!

Removed 2 stitches from the increase after welt as knitting in the round - It took a while for me to process the fact that knitting in one piece meant that the last and first stitches of the front and back would become one stitch as they are the same, lesson now learnt!

I’ve decided to use colours nearer to the original pattern as I realised I was making it more to what I would wear rather than my Dad!

Apart form sewing in all the ends , it is finished
I think it looks ok though I can see all my mistakes, hopefully my Dad wont.

Got my brother to try it on for size thankfully it fits, though he now wants one!

Dad loves it as you can see so all the hard work was worth it :)

To be honest really enjoyed knitting this, it was quite quick to knit and a very simple pattern - a great place to start with fair isle, loved doing it on the round it was so much quicker and mean a whole lot less fiddly purl rows !!

One thing I will say is that the King Cole yarn I used was/is very fluffy and splitty though it was the best acrylic 4ply in terms of colours, I doubt I will be using it again, as the fluff tends to make the darker colours look like they have bled in to the lighter ones which is very annoying!
