Notes

I’ve been wanting to do a top down sweater with a stitch pattern. So I grabbed a random skein from my stash (I think I bought it last month but I don’t know what I had in mind… It was probably just on sale, lol!)

It’s just a little newborn sweater; I improvised the pattern on some graph paper and got started. At first I was going to use the “sugar cubes” stitch pattern featured on the Lion Brand website (originally in Vogue knitting mag) but I had to alter it slightly to get it to look right on such a wee sweater.

I’ve used sugar cubes before to make a baby hat when I first started knitting. It’s easy! The way that I’ve altered it makes it look almost like a basket weave. It’s been tricky making this pattern; a lot of thinking ahead. I’ve had to lay out the stitch pattern so that it lines up right when I put everything together. Hopefully it will work out. I would hate for it to be a flop at this point D:

I gave this sweater to my new little 2nd cousin Preston!
