Notes

Not too long ago I went to Jo-Ann’s with my grandmother in-law, Betty. When I picked up wool yarn she exclaimed, “I hate wool!” quite passionately. I asked why; which provoked a rant about how wool is itchy, felts and shrinks and is ridiculous to care for. I decided not to mention that I planned on making a baby sweater with it. I made her feel it and all she could say then was, “Oh…”. Lion Brand’s Alpine Wool is quite soft and caring for it is no different than most other hand-knit garments. Hand wash with mild detergent and lay flat to dry.

I’ve never made anything out of 100% wool. I think I might put a strip of red through the middle of the sweater. I’m also thinking some shiny metal buttons would be cute.

Update- As you can see I added the red strips and finished the body of the sweater. As this has been a improvised pattern I’ve run into a few issues… My button holes are on the wrong side (I don’t know how much that really matters) And this is the first intarsia project that I’ve done and I’m afraid it doesn’t look very neat on the inside! I’m not looking forward to doing the sleeves. Oh and by the way the red is not really that bright, dumb camera.
