Update: 01/03/14

Yay! I finally finished him! I will add a picture shortly (my phone died, so the camera isn’t working). The day before Christmas - I didn’t even bother with wrapping him, just stuck a bow on top and called it good! My husband LOVED it, although he did give me a hard time about how long I took.

The details: As you know I strayed from the pattern quite a bit. I made up the legs and feet as I went and based the shapes off the “real” Perry. For his eyes I made incomplete spheres and sewed them on in a squashed kind of way (quite technical there) and used all natural buttons made out of some kind of bean grown in South America… Because they looked nice, really. This guy was by no means “green” with his man-made-synthetic-fiber yarn.

I’m proud of my accomplishment.

Update: 04/11/13
I successfully made his body more boxy, unfortunately I totally failed at getting this done before Christmas. So, here I am a day before my husband’s birthday… feeling ambitious. I’m going to try to finish it by the time my husband gets home from work tomorrow.

I only have his smallish parts left to do: 4 legs, and 2 eyes.

As a Christmas gift I’m making this for my husband. Shhhhh! Don’t tell him ;)

I’m altering the pattern slightly. Trying to make it more “boxy”, because Perry the platypus is more rectangular in shape. Hopefully I will be successful.
