At last I’m making a hat for myself!

I knit the band for the Adult Large, but holding it up to my head, it was shorter than I wanted. I knit another 6 rows of Chart A1, then jumped into A2 to finish.

When picking up stitches, I picked up 114 stitches to go back to the Adult Large (assuming I knit the cabled section super tight), so I ended up doing that by picking up 6 stitches then skipping a row. I decreased the next row to 112 (since that was divisible by 8), knit 18 rows of Chart B, then joined it in the round without additional cast on stitches (I opted for 18 rows instead of 20 since I held it up to my head and it seemed ready to join at that point).

For the brim, I had enough yarn to knit 8 rows instead of 10 (including the bind off row). In Row 4, I made a YO three stitches from each end to make attaching the tassels easier.
