Started by using the short row shaping method given in the pattern but after about 80 rows decided that I wasn’t happy with it because it looked so untidy. I frogged it so that I could try a different method of short row shaping.
I decided to use German Short Rows, the alternative method suggested in the pattern, and was immediately much happier with it. It was considerably tidier.
I did wonder a little later on but it certainly is no worse so have made the decision to continue with the German Short Row method.
ETA: once steamed and wearing it, I am quite satisfied with the results.

The other change I made to the pattern was to work my increases and decreases 1 stitch further in from the edge than given in the pattern since I think this gives a neater finish and is also the same way that the original sample was knitted.
The pattern is well written and the I found that the frequent stitch counts at the end of sections very helpful if only for reassurance.
My finished garment weighed exactly 590g.
Unfortunately I do not know the yardage of the yarn but it seems to me to be very similar to Purl Alpaca Medium and knitted to exactly the same tension in my opinion.
