I love this color way “Dexter”. It’s creme with splotches of red and black. Striping it with white and praying the colors don’t run when washing. I added beads to symbolize dripping blood (too far?).

7 repeats of the 2 sections. Started with the 1st section a bit deeper than what the pattern called for. I didn’t want to jump right into the lace. I added one lace repeat to the last section and added yos at each side of centers for the points to be more pronounced. I added red beads on all RS rows just at the centers of the lace and at the edges.

BO: K1 (K1, Slip both stitches from right to left purl wise and the K2tog through the back loops) Repeat in ( ). When placing beads on the edge, I slipped a bead onto the stitch forming the K2tog over the center line of stitches using a crochet hook. Then I transferred it back to the left and knit it again. I found that adding this extra step centered them a little better.

Now the task of weaving in ends and blocking.

This skein bled like crazy. I now have pink stripes instead of white. It took a dozen rinses to get the water to not look like blood. The 3rd photo is more or less what the colors were before the plunge, the other 2 are after colors.

Vice yarns stepped up and generously offered to compensate my loss with a couple of skeins. It turns out that part of a bad batch has slipped through the cracks and into my stash. I’m looking forward to knitting with more of their yarn. The Carnal is luxurious to work with.
