Soooo….. February is awful and I needed to distract myself. It was either knit a sweater for the cat or booty shorts for myself. The cat and the spouse both thank me for my choice. :D

Making notes for when I cast on next week.
Anticipating doing a picot hem cast on utilizing this method from Tech Knitter. I hate provisional cast on in the round with a mighty rage and I’m hoping this will solve that issue.
I’m then going to utilize this picot cast off method for the waist band. The video is a bit difficult to watch at times but I was able to figure it out without issue. I’m going to leave about 5 stitches live so that elastic can be threaded through, if that ends up being needed.
I’m 90% sure I get this gauge with Tonic on size 5s, as I swatched for a sweater last week. I’m going to double check. Thinking I’ll be able to get the shorts out of 2.5 skeins. Maybe even just 2?
I have a feeling this is going to be an addictive project and I might end up making a couple pair for myself…

Cast on tonight! The 124 leg cast on, knit 10 rows, 1x1 eyelet for turning row.

Ended up being painfully clear I have a very warped perspective of how my body looks! I ended up frogging and going with 90 stitches for each leg. That’s perfect.
12 rows, eyelette for turning, then another 12 before folding leg hem.
20 rows for leg inseam post hem.
1 round stockinette, then started short rows as written. Knit through round 6 as written, though did add 2 additional stitches on either side of front marker.
Also, did a M1 instead of KFB because it’s less obvious in my knitting.
