Notes

Knit fearlessly!

1) CO:200 stitches and join the the round (US 2 circular needles and shimmering lace weight yarn).
2) Knit in Stockenette for desired length of cowl. I knit for 7 inches (72 g of shimmering remained)
3) Next round, knit with Entwined (I had 72 g of yarn)
4) Do not join the round, but using Judy’s magic cast-on method, cast on 62 stitches (or as many as you would like). These stitches will be the shoulder seam of the poncho and this will determine the width of the poncho.

You will finished the project knitting flat, NOT in the round.

5) Switch to US 7 Needles. Continue with Entwined only. At the beginning and end of each row knit the first two and last two stitches (or consider doing an applied I-cord because Stephen West is right, this makes the nicest edge). For the remaining stitches, set-up your 1st brioche row. You will now be ready to knit one color brioche until 1/4 of your yarn is gone (36 g, this was 12 brioche rows for me)
5) Switch to two color brioche. Set-up your two color brioche so Shimmering is the background brioche stitch. Continue for 12 brioche rows.
6) Reverse your color order. Now Shimmering is the color on the right side of the garment and Entwined is in the background. Knit for 12 brioche rows.
7) Switch to one color brioche in Shimmering. Continue in one color brioche until to achieve the desired length of the poncho keeping in mind that brioche does relax and grow after washing and blocking.
8) BO loosely with your favorite BO method. Make sure to use a very stretchy BO.

Weave in ends, washed block!

Enjoy!
