test knit from this thread

Deadline: October 13, 2014

gauge after blocking with 3.5mm needles:
23sts x 32rows

Pattern gauge is 25sts x 32rows.
Considering my gauge is different and since i like my cardigans with no ease i’m knitting the 32.75” size to get my 37” bust measurement.

The pattern is well written, detailed and clear.

Mods:
Body
For a perfect fit I’ve worked 3 more raglan increases.
When joining the body I cast on only 4 sts instead of 8.
For the sleeves i also picked up only 4 sts.

Worked 5” before starting the Body chart.
I decided to work the waist increases next to cables, this way the ribbing between cables is equal from the beginning threw the end.
I’ve worked the cardigan from row 37 of body chart threw the end with a 4mm needle size.

For body and sleeves I did a stretchy bind-off i always work on my shawls:
“k1, k1, slip two stitches to left needle, k2tog
through back loop
until all stitches are
bound off”
As suggested by Cheryl to avoid a wavy bind off I worked too sts together when binding off in the meddle of each cable.

Sleeves:
I have long arms so i had to work in stockinette until sleeves measured 15”.
Changed to a 4mm needle to work the sleeve chart.
Repeated rows 35-38 once more before binding off

Neckband:
Worked 9 rows for neckband.
For bind off I’ve used the tubular method.

Buttonhole band:
Picked up 129 sts for the Buttonhole band.
I’ve worked the One-row buttonhole suggested in pattern but mine only uses 3 sts, my buttons are smaller.
I’ve used 10 buttons.
For bind off I’ve used the tubular cast-off method.

Button band:
Picked up 129 sts for the Button band.
For bind off I’ve used the tubular cast-off method.
