The pattern seems to suggest working until the granny square is 20”, but I found that to be mighty small. I’ll keep working until it’s a bit bigger. I’m thinking closer to 24”.

Finished height about 24”. Completed 30 rows.

I tried to decrease the armholes, but they were too large and I didn’t like how the fabric bunched around the cuffs. Instead I seamed part of the sleeve to make the armholes. I then added the sleeve ribbing as in pattern.

I added a scalloped edge to the body of the shrug:

In first CH space (DC, CH 1, DC, CH 1, DC, CH 1, DC) all in same space, * skip next stitch, SLST in next stitch, skip next stitch, in next CH space (DC, CH1, DC, CH 1, DC, CH 1, DC) all in same space * . Repeat between * * around.
