I made a second, toddler-sized “Ichigo” (aka Strawberry) version for my niece after completing the original infant-sized “Prince” for my nephew. Since the hat was a Christmas gift and I was overwhelmed by some other projects, I didn’t get to add little white spots like what is shown on Ichigo in the Katamari games.

I managed to complete the bonnet in a couple of days, in the wee hours into Christmas morning, since I knew what I was doing the second time around. Technically, Ichigo has a pink border surrounding her face, but since I have boys and no need for pink yarn, I went with an off-white colour instead for the strap.

I guessed at the necessary increases and ended up with a hat too large for my niece’s head. That, along with the too long, stuffed head bumps resulted in a heavy bonnet. o(>.ll be able to wear the hat without falling over. (^o^)
