A Christmas gift for my SIL who loves owls. I made this to go with the owl car strap covers.
Started and frogged multiple times for various reasons. Let’s hope fifth time’s the charm. (@_@)
I only had US 10 needles to work with on short notice. I’m trying to compensate by knitting very loosely (not really working…).
I thought one skein would work, but nope. Definitely not going to make it through the pattern with one. Now let’s hope Walmart has another skein with the correct dye lot. I really, really….really…don’t want another restart.
I know that the pattern’s first Row 3 was corrected, but I need symmetry. I changed it to:
P4, YO, K2tog, K10, K2tog, YO, P4
Update
This was a big hit at Christmas! I had a bunch of other little projects I had made over the year for my nephew and placed everything inside instead of wrapping a bunch of little stuff individually.
The bag turned out larger than I expected.
In the end I purchased US 13 needles and restarted, but I think I preferred the smaller size.
I have never had so many problems starting a project. I’m not sure why all the difficulties. It’s not like this is a difficult pattern by any stretch. It got to the point where I forbade myself from undoing any part unless it was an actual mistake.
Apologies for the terrible pictures. I barely completed the diaper case on time (like 1 AM Christmas morning barely on time =_=’ ). Combine night time with poor lighting and this is what I get. But, better a bad photo than no photo at all.
The second photo shows the diaper case with the companion seat covers and an owl washcloth with matching embroidery. Originally I planned to wrap everything separately until my frazzled brain had an epiphany: just stick everything in the diaper case. Problem solved.
