Notes

This was one of those projects I started without really understanding how everything wold fit together. I hoped it would make sense when I actually started knitting. Thankfully, it did.

I’ve wanted to try this pattern for a while, but there are a lot of techniques for the pocket that I didn’t know. I was able to find a website that explained how to knit onto waste yarn and how to pick up those stitches, the latter being useful even though this pattern has you picking up the purl stitches on the wrong side.

I thought at first that this cozy pattern had you picking up yarn (I guess that would be picking up stitches and knitting), but if I understand correctly, you pick up the stitches themselves (live stitches) and knit with new yarn on the next round. It was nerve wracking undoing the waste yarn, but I had picked up all the stitches correctly. I like this technique and will probably try it on some mittens in the near future.

I kept dropping stitches on the pocket. So frustrating with this yarn.

Now, I just need to weave in all of my ends. (^=^)
