A very quick knit, and looks great once it’s put together. Took me a bit to figure out how the teeth worked (my confusion, the pattern is well written) but went quickly once I sorted myself out.

Modifications:
a) I crocheted the eyes instead of using material or felt. Make 2.
With black, on 5.00 mm (H) hook
R1: 6 sc into magic ring, close ring (6)
R2: 2 sc into each sc (12)
Change to white,
R3: sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around (18)
R4: sc, sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat around (24)

b) instead of finishing hat and making separate black i-cord for top of hat, decreased last row of hat to 4 stitches then continued into i-cord for desired length. Made end of cord flat with yo eyelet for button hole. Used button to secure end of black i-cord to hat so that chain is removable.
