I liked the look of this little bag so it had been on my to do list for a while. In the end, I made three because the hot humid weather continued for long enough and stopped me knitting easily with other yarns.
The pattern is easy to follow and the chart is clear enough too though I’d still have been happier with a list of written directions instead, as they’re more compact to carry around and use, IMO.
I changed the cord twisting directions as I couldn’t properly understand the original wording. I just twisted one really long length of doubled yarn for each cord instead.
12/7/15 I made a couple more from odd balls of cotton but didn’t look at the yarn length on the lilac version (Rowan cotton glace, 5ply sport) and so inevitably, I ran out with about 12 rows to go and with no chance of buying another ball as it is a discontinued shade! Then, quite by chance, I found a ball of Sirdar cotton 4ply in a LYS that is unbelievably an almost exact match, so much so that I’ve put a photo of the two yarns here side by side to show just how close they really are. Amazing!
24/8/15 I’ve now made 9 in different colours…only 6 more to go, using the cotton yarn in my stash :0)
17/9/15 I made a couple more and have now started to line them using a 18” circle of cotton that fits nicely inside the bag, with a hand sewn hem just below the cord and anchored at the centre to the bag tassel.
