Notes

I love this design and really enjoy doing Celtic knots! I used aran weight as I wanted a sturdier result and it worked well I think. I cut the brim stiffener from an old video case which seemed to be strong and flexible enough. I used a really strong, soft cotton yarn for the inside band & pulled the oversewn stitches up tight to make the hat fit an average head. I love the finished result and think I’ll be making more in the future…

I made a second hat using more Orkney yarn, that ran out before the end, so I had to use the remaining yarn from the first project to finish it…it worked out perfectly and I ended up with just about 3 yards of yarn left over.

In the absence of a suitable man around to pose, I had to use my model baby for the photograph ;0)
