Notes

I chose the yarn for the colour and should really have checked first because it’s a cobweb weight and probably not the best choice for this particular pattern.
I tried over and over to make the nupps look neat but have given up because they invariably ended up looking like an untidy snarl in the yarn. I’ll finish the shawl without them.
I did however discover an easy way to get through the P5tog. I used a fine needle to pick up & knit the stitch, then placed the finished stitch back onto the original needle. It saved a lot of fighting with the thicker needle :0)

I found myself with time to spare and so I picked this up and continued without the messy nupps. Knitting with cobweb weight still wasn’t easy or pleasant for my winter-rough fingers, but the lace patterns were simple to follow. I didn’t use the charts as I find it easier to repeat a simple written pattern repeat like this in my head rather than looking and counting a row of little squares; so easy in fact that I went wrong (of course it’s a design feature!) at some point and didn’t notice until I was almost finished..too late to go back and undo it yet again.
It used less than 1x25gms and will easily pull through a ring.
