A simple sweater with blocked colors, boat neck, close-fitting arms and no waist-shaping. Minimal seams: knitted in the round (from the bottom up), stitches for arms are picked up from arm holes.
Colors can be distributed as wanted- I had 100 g of beige and 300 g of yellow left from another Project and used up all of the beige and about 200g of the yellow.
I knitted the border at the hips and the chest/arms in yellow and the lower body as well as the rim at the wrists in beige.
needle: 3,5 mm
gauge: 22M x 30 R = 10 cm (stockinette, knitted flat)
yarn: 100 % cotton in light yellow (200 g/ Color A), dark beige (100 g/ Color B)
before you start: cut about 2 x 4 m (~26 inch) of color B for the contrasting rim at the wrists.
BODY:
- Cast on 100 sts in color A, join round
- Work ribbing (k1, p1) for about 1 inch
- Change to color B
- knit in rounds until color B is used up (or as long as you like) and change back to color A
- at a total lenght of 14 inch (or more, if you want your sweater to be longer), bind of 2 x 3 sts at both sides to separate front from back (both parts will be finished separately, but identically)
FRONT:
- to shape armholes, in every 2. row bind of 1 x 2 sts and then 1 x st.
- work flat, until piece measures 21 inches.
- continue with ribbing (k1, p1) for about 1.5 inch, then
- bind of about 8 Inch in the center for the neckline, put remaining stitches on hold.
BACK: same as front.
After finishing both parts, join held stitches using backstitch method (Maschenstich) to form the shoulders.
ARMS (both):
- pick up 66 sts from arm hole
- use short rows to shape shoulder: -- knit 8 sts at highest point of shoulder, turn work, purl back. -- next 3 times, knit/purl additional 3 sts with every row (on both ends). -- after this, add 1 additional sts on both ends (17 times) -- add remaining 6 sts
- go on knitting in rounds until arms measure about 20 Inch (or required lenght, less 1.5 inch), decreasing 11 x 2 sts every inch (= 44 sts)
- continue with ribbing (k1, p1) for about 1.5 inch, finishing with 5 rounds of color B
- bind of, weave in ends.

EDIT:
From the point where front and back of the body are separated, the fabric gets less tight (because knitting in the round creates a tighter fabric than alternating between knitting and purling). If you are a tight knitter, you may notice no difference - I sure did! So from this point, I purled from the right side, which produces a more dense fabric. I found a good tutorial how to do so here (it’s in german, but you can see what she’s doing):

Looks a bit strange at first, but I love this technique!
