A modified “Flax”, to keep me warm while making music in cold churches…

For short: I added a collar that can be folded up and secured with buttons, cables at the collar, the wrists and one bigger one down the whole front and I made the whole sweater much longer to prevent the cold air entering by backside ;-)…

Lima & Puna together on 4.5 mm needles: 16Mx22R = 10 cm

Pattern modifications:

Cast on st for collar:
depends on how wide you want your collar to be. For a more narrow collar, I cast on 103 stitches (1 edge stitch, 5 st in garter stitch for a button border, 96 st in mini cord ribbing 2/2, 1 edge stitch).

knit/purl the above order for as long as you want your collar to be- I did about 30 cm. Then join to knit in the round (I made an “overlap” of 5 st to get a tighter closure of the turtle neck) and follow the original “Flax”-pattern.
I added a cable at the “opening” of the collar by knitting 1 p, 2/2 knit cable, 1p, crossing every 6 rounds.
At the hips, I elongated the pattern a little and ended with 10 cm of a simple 2k/2p- ripping. At the arms (also a little longer then in the pattern), instead of a full ribbing, a added three “mini cord ribbing”s for the last 15 cm, running on the outside of the arm. I finished body and sleeves with a flexible bind-off.
