This took me a loooong time to make as it was the prototype for a new design, so there was a lot of frogging (and wasted yarn!) involved. Every round had to be photographed which meant waiting for reasonably consistent light conditions every time. Oh well I volunteered for it!!

The design was inspired by the colours and motifs in a Kazak carpet we have at home, and many times I thought I’d bitten off far more than I could chew, so it’s amazing to see it come to fruition. I didn’t like it very much until I attached the border squares, then it all seemed to come together. Quite pleased with it now!
