Notes

When our family was dividing Grandma Clark’s belongings, both Aunt Susan and I wanted the Jerusalem Pottery plate to hang in our kitchens, but Susan decided to let me have the plate if I made her a sweater based on it.

I hit an amazing yard sale this fall where a family was trying to clean out an attic. I asked if they wanted more than the $10 they were asking for all the colors of thread cotton, they said they wanted an attic back, did I want the embroidery floss too?

I chain ply-ed the thread to get it to a dk-ish size, then finished the sweater with some Knit Picks simply organic sport cotton. I worried that it didn’t meld with the colorful collar and cuff until I remembered that I had some antique buttons from my friend Betsy. The button bands gave it some unity also.

This was my first overlay crochet pattern, the videos made everything really clear - clear enough to hack the original intent at the same time!
