This is my first shot at doing “Tomato” and I love him as much as the other critters in the menagerie!

I altered the joining technique a little bit: drop yarn from hook; insert hook from front to back in corresponding stitch of other motif, pick up dropped yarn and pull through; complete dc as normal (no sl st).

I also changed the “dc, ch 1, dc” at each corner to simply do 3 dc in each corner and then handled the “extra” dc’s the same as the ch-1 is done in the directions. This method results in a tighter join with less gap for the stuffing to show through. It also more closely resembles the stitching used to sew the leg sections together.

I still haven’t decided how I want to do his crown, but I’m calling him ‘done’ for now.
