Ok, so I needed to try out my newly learned technique of switching out colors (tapestery crochet) and decided this would be a perfect try. It’s very easy.. Start the pattern with white. Switch to your main color for all regular “esc” stitches, then switch back to your white or snowflake color for all the “fpdc” stitches. You just have to remember WHERE to change color, which is with the last y/o from the stitch before you want your new color to show. There are plenty of tutorials.

While this hat is lovely with all one color (see my other snowflake berets) or with a variegated yarn and letting the snowflake pattern show in a deboss, I think this alternating color is stunning!
