Notes

I thought I was going to hate these socks. It took me a dozen starts and re-starts to figure out Judy Becker Judy’s Magic Cast-On.
And then, a full week into them, I realized I started my increases entirely too soon which would have resulted in the tiniest widest foot imaginable.

After frogging back to the toe {Lord knows I didn’t want to restart that again}, I had the patterned pretty established, so the sock only took a few days to finish after that.

The Magic Cast On threw me for another loop {yarn pun!} on the second sock as I somehow managed to start right but then not so magically work RS on the inside of the sock. Very frustrating and I’m still not sure what I was doing wrong. However, after finally getting the toe correct, it, like the first sock came together rather quickly afterward.

Pros:

  • Pattern is easy to remember.
  • Definitely a nice cold weather sock.

Cons:

  • Frustrating for an advanced beginner because of the beginning.
