It’s the end of August, but another Connecticut winter is on it’s way. It’s out there, lurking just around the corner. And it wants to get me.

Luckily, I have Ravelry for fabulous projects to prepare (and cheer me up). So many chunky, fabulous cowls and scarves…

Fell in love with Raveler lajoyagirl’s cowl and, with some info from her, went ahead with mine. I love this stitch. It’s a little awkward until you get used to the movement, but then it’s cake!

The texture is awesome. The pattern is so simple. The yarn is incredibly soft. The drape with a K hook & my loose gauge is fabulous!!

I am definitely making more of these. This could be THE gift of Christmas 2015. Last year, most everyone got an Outlander cowl. This year, I’m thinking about this pattern!

Rows 10 & 11: gold

Yarn: It is fabulously soft and it drapes soooo gorgeously. I love it. Don’t know how it’ll hold up long-term, but I’ll let you know over the winter (shuddering when I type that “w” word). One thing I found out using skein 1? Center-pull usage is a nightmare. I spent more time untangling and even twice cutting out long snarls of yarn than I did whipping through the crocheting. What a waste--of time, yarn, and money (though the yarn isn’t pricey). Skein 2, I’m using from the outside, and it’s going along just fine.
