Nice simple pattern, though I find ribbing a bit dull. This will be my first attempt at an afterthought heel so I’m looking forward to that bit.

There are a few confusing parts in the pattern, eg it doesn’t specify that you should remove the waste yarn before knitting your afterthought heel. Also my heel and toe were 6cm each rather than the 5cm indicated in the pattern. You should stop knitting when the sock is 12cm from the desired length rather than 10. I’m a bit worried that one of the socks will be too long for the recipient now.

Update: I knew the first sock was way too long so I had to cut and graft it. This was very scary as I’ve never attempted it before! I unravelled about 2cm and regrafted. I think it went okay though the toe ended up slightly twisted, but only by 1 or 2 sts. It may have been quicker to unravel the toe and re-knit but I couldn’t face it!
