Started this pattern on the plane on my way to Japan, but man I really didn’t think this one through! The pattern is challenging, and definitely not a good fit for mindless plane knitting!

The color is amazingly vibrant, but working with singles isn’t great when working a pattern you’re not used to - it tends to break if you need to frog and it splits while knitting. But I’m very pleased with the light, airy fabric it creates!

Finally at the halfway mark, and FINALLY don’t need the chart anymore! God, I don’t know why but this pattern has had me confused for the longest time. I’ve never had so much trouble with a lace pattern before.

8 repeats, 64g left. I’ll stop there and start the decrease section. Something went a bit wrong though, I should be at 205 sts but I think I’ve been forgetting the kfbf at the end of the 22nd row, so I’m 8 sts short at 197 instead. Oops. Instead of frogging I’ll just work a kfbf on a few rows of chart C to catch up on the stitch count (rows 2,6,10,14&18 then rows 2,6&10 again).

1st repeat of chart C, 46g left, 166 stitch count (still 3 sts down, but it’s getting there )

2nd repeat of chart C, 30g left, 133 sts. I’m back on track

Done, washed and on the blocking mat! Used all but 2g of the yarn. Man, even being 1 main body repeat short, this thing’s got an amazing wingspan!
