Notes

I had a go…..!!!!
oink oink……….

She has got quite a long snout…!!!!
But that’s because she likes to SNIFF OUT GREAT BARGAINS.

I’m so glad your interested in my pig, I must admit I have given this modified version to so many people now….so I thought I might just add it on my project page….
Any ways, like I’ve said to others, I played around quite a bit, until I finally settled on my finished one.

MODIFICATION FOR OINK THE PIG

I used :HAPPY HIPPO FOR HER BODY.
then when it came to her head, I made the normal 4 pentagons, two for eyes and two for snout.
I used a triangle for end of snout, but I decided to crochet a end piece instead, it makes it stand out better…
For underneath the snout, I made, 1 pentagon, joined to the hexagons from her front legs, and then the final piece was 1 hexagon to join all together.
The final thing I did, was a bit of sewing, to pull the eyes in and to model the pigs mouth.
I did try using different motif sizes, but for some reason, they just didn’t look right !!!!
I do like the comedy look to my pig, and it seems like everyone else does to…they all seem to like the longgggg snout…haha
I did try a smaller nose, but for some reason it looked like a dogs nose, rather than a pigs snout…

you could also use the Elephants trunk, as the snout, it’s just a case of trying and see what happens…
I did a lot of joining and un doing of my motifs, until, I finally reached the end !!

EARS.
I used 4 X Hexagons = 2 hex per Ear.
When you do the last round 5, don’t, make the corners, just carry on around, till you get about halfway,
then I did the following…
2 hdc, 2 DC, (4 triple crochet…) which is ( yo twice ).
2dc, 2hdc, then finish of the ear with double crochets.
So pattern is : 2hdc, 2dc, 4tc, 2dc, 2hdc. This gives you the peak, to the top of the Ears. !!!

You can even use the Elephants Ears, if you want them a bit bigger…!!!

I hope you enjoy making your pig, it can be a bit frustrating but worth it in the end….
I hope I haven’t confused you, if I can help you more, please don’t hesitate to ask me.

Paula Xxx oink oink Xxx ;D

If you made your own pig (oink ), please show me. I’d love to see your projects.
thanks for marking my project notes as helpful! grinning
